Quins manufacture shade sails from a range of fabrics including PVC, Shadecloth, and Mesh. We are not limited to one brand or colour; we have options for all applications.
PVC fabric is used for waterproof shade sails. A PVC sail allows light to filter through whilst blocking harmful UV radiation and keeping an area dry. They are constructed with a high frequency welding process ensuring a quality hardwearing waterproof sail.
Commercial grade HDPE Shadecloth is a hardwearing close-weaved fabric, providing a fire retardant, UV rated, aesthetically pleasing sail in a large selection of colours. Shadecloth also provides some of the best protection (up to 98% UVR Block or SPF of 15).
PVC coated polyester mesh is used for retractable shade options, as well as awnings and lightweight sails. The mesh is fire rated and offers UVR of up to 94%.
Our sails are sewn with SolarFix® PTFE thread which is guaranteed to not lose any significant strength due to UV or chemical exposure, unlike conventional polyester, nylon and cotton products and is guaranteed to last the lifetime of the fabric.
All products are supplied with quality fittings. Stainless steel wire is sewn (shadecloth sails) or welded (PVC sails) into the perimeter seam to ensure a properly tensioned sail. Each sail has stainless steel D-rings attached to corners with UV rated webbing to withstand harsh conditions. All turnbuckles and shackles are commercial grade stainless steel. Dependent on the application we also install poles and fittings to walls, roofs and pergolas. These fixtures and fittings are heavy-duty commercial grade products ensuring that the sails are adequately strong and secure. We use quality products to ensure a strong weather resistant sail.
Quin’s use quality fabrics, thread and fittings, ensuring that sails are designed and manufactured to stand the test of time. Our PVC and shadecloth suppliers offer a warranty of between 5 years and 15 years warranty, and, Quins offer a 5 year guarantee on our workmanship.

Folding arm awnings are very popular with Cafes and Restaurants due to their professional and neat look and their ability to span large distances. They also work very effectively in a residential setting. These awnings are ideal for large patios and external entertainment areas. They are an affordable alternative to constructing an exterior roof while providing similar protection from harsh sunlight and UV rays.
Folding arm awnings are simple, robust and can be made in widths of up to 12 metres and are able to extend up to 6 metres, enabling huge areas to be covered without support poles.
Folding arm awnings can be automated for push button operation or for full automation, a wind and sun sensor can be installed so the blind will retract at night for security purposes and also in potentially damaging high winds.
A wide variety of fabric types can be used for folding arm awnings such as Canvas, Mesh and PVC
Pleated awnings are perfect for an area that you want to only shade part time. Ideal for courtyards, long narrow areas or large pool areas, pleated awnings are perfect for most applications where retractability is desired. Pleated awnings also have the advantage of being able to withstand much higher wind loads than folding arm awnings or umbrella type shades. Furthermore, despite their shape pleated awnings don`t hold water so can be left extended in any weather.
Pleated awnings can be made from PVC coated polyester, shade mesh or shade cloth. We do however recommend PVC coated polyester because it is the easiest of the three to keep clean. They come in a variety of colours and UV blockout percentages.
The cable, pulleys and fittings are made from marine grade stainless steel.
Retractable Awnings are an innovative system similar to folding arm awnings with the key difference that the front bar is supported by tracks rather than arms. They are well suited to use under pergolas and indoors to provide shade for large glazed areas.
Retractable awnings are suitable indoors as well as outdoors for glass roofing, Pergolas and substructures. Exterior awnings protect against the sun and heat and generate a pleasant indoor climate - with excellent aesthetics.
Widths and lengths of up to 6m can be covered with a retractable awning
Conservatory awnings are typically motorised with a remote control but can also be manual if desired
